One of the biggest events of the year is almost here, as DC’s sequel to the iconic Batman tale “HUSH” begins in Batman #158.
It’s not just the name that’d Hush-ed
While there are all manner of universe-threatening events constantly unfolding across the comics industry’s biggest publishers, H2SH is undoubtably just as impactful as any of them. No, the DC multiverse isn’t at stake (that we’re aware of) in its pages, and there’s no ‘Crisis’ unfolding either, but what H2SH represents is a sequel to one of the biggest (formerly) one-off Batman tales, well, ever.
Arriving in 2003, the original HUSH introduced a series of Jim Lee redesigns for some of the Dark Knight’s rogues gallery, and brought to bear the impactful title villain with them. A childhood friend of Bruce Wayne named Tommy Elliot, the man called Hush was out to destroy both the Batman and his family. Speaking of, HUSH also started the ball rolling on the reintroduction of Jason Todd as Red Hood, so it was loaded with content and high-points aplenty. At the end of the arc though, Hush’s crusade ended with the villain believed dead. But this is comics folks, and both the good and bad have a tendency to come back from their certain demise… or do they?
DC is being so secretive about the new H2SH story arc, that we’re not completely sure on what the story will entail. We don’t even know if Hush will be in it at all. Thankfully though, we do know for sure that Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee are back in command for it, along with some “collaborators”, according to DC, in Scott Williams, Alex Sinclair, and Richard Starkings.
The arc kicks off in Batman #158, and we’ve got a pretty lengthy preview for you below. It’s unlettered, but you’ll get a general sense of what’s happening for sure, plus Lee’s art is absolutely stunning, and the colored pages (there are also B&W) pop like nobody’s business.
Look for Batman #158 in stores on March 26, 2025.
Batman #158

Just the beginning
As mentioned, the above preview of Batman #158 is just the first shot in what’ll be a six month story line, all of which will be helmed by Loeb, Lee, Williams, Sinclair, and Starkings. From the sound of it in the press release too, we’re might not be just talking about the flagship “Batman” title either, as the talent listed seems like it will be dishing out H2SH’s tales throughout the Bat-books.
And as you might imagine, DC teases that you can expect more than a few “twists and turns” set “between Batman #158 and Batman #163″. While you’ll have to wait for peeks at the bulk of those, we have a short glimpse at Batman #159, complete with an attention-grabbing cover that you might’ve seen previewed last year.
