Nintendo Download: Plucking on the Heartstrings

The collected Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered arrives this week, along with DOOM Anthology and a bunch more.

The classics are back

It’s a decent week on the Nintendo Download for those who like classic games. Not that there are a ton of them, but what is dropping are two collections that feature some of the biggest gaming franchisees of all time. The bigger of the two is probably Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered, and we say that because the second one includes games that are already available for the console.

All three of the games included in the pack above were fairly well received upon their initial releases, but we’re also thinking that it might be a case of them being ‘more than the sum of their parts’ at this point. After all, they’re all a part of what was the most iconic vision of the Tomb Raider property.

If that’s not enough for you though, then there’s also DOOM Anthology. Now you’re probably saying one of two things at this point, meaning either ‘hasn’t this been out for a while’ or ‘we’ve seen these games a hundred times over by now’. Believe us, we get it, but if you haven’t picked up any of the DOOM catalog for the Switch, this re-presentation is a terrific and all-encompassing option. It’s packed with everything from the re-released DOOM+DOOM II to DOOM Eternal (complete with both expansion packs).

Check out both collections, plus the rest of this week’s drops on the list below.
