Hot Toys is no stranger to awesome Star Wars collectibles, but the upcoming Sandtrooper and Dewback Set might take the cake.

We’ve showcased the unboxings from Sideshow for a while now, and they usually don’t disappoint. The retailer tends to spotlight Hot Toys’ offerings more often than not, and they’re always pretty darn cool, even when they star a figure that you might not be all that into. In the case of the latest drop though, well it’s something that we’re all over.
What we think is easily one of the coolest Star Wars pieces that Hot Toys has produced to date, the Sandtrooper and Dewback Set is looking ridiculously impressive. As the name implies, not only do buyers get a 1/6th scale Sandtrooper Sergeant, but also a scaled Dewback (non-posable but with some swappable parts). As you might imagine too, this is a big boy, measuring in at almost 32″ according to Sideshow’s video.

Inspired by Star Wars: A New Hope™, the Sandtrooper Sergeant™ & Dewback™ 1/6 Scale Collectible Set by Hot Toys includes a diligent sandtrooper and his reliable dewback mount.
The Sandtrooper Sergeant™ 1/6 scale figure features meticulously crafted armor and helmet with expertly applied weathered effects, plus a white pauldron which signifies his rank of sergeant. The sandtrooper comes equipped with a highly detailed survival backpack, two heavy blasters, binoculars, a rod staff, and the droid part which he found in the sand.
Utilized by sandtroopers on Tatooine while searching for stolen Death Star plans, the dewback is a rugged reptilian well-suited to the harsh desert sands. Measuring 14.57 inches (37 cm) tall, 13.78 inches (35 cm) wide, and 31.5 inches (80 cm) deep, the highly accurate Dewback™ 1/6 scale figure is skillfully hand-painted and features detailed textures. It comes with an interchangeable head, giving collectors the choice of displaying the creature with an open or a closed mouth, and an additional right leg in a standing pose. A faux leather bridle and a saddle with sculpted saddlebags are also included.

If you’re looking to add a Sandtrooper and Dewback Set to your own collation, we hope you pre-ordered. While the items are set to ship out some time between now and April of this year, they’re currently sold out at Sideshow. That goes for the set, but also the Dewback and Sandtrooper Sergeant, which are also sold as separate pieces.
Don’t completely lose hope though, if you didn’t pre-order, since Sideshow has opened up Waitlists for all of the above. Easily the most expensive and the main attraction, the Sandtrooper and Dewback Set is priced in at $705 USD. Alternatively though, the solo Sandtrooper Sergeant is tagged at $260 USD, while a standard Dewback that ships without the optional posing parts is priced at $460 USD. There’s also a Deluxe Dewback too, coming in at $490 USD, which does include those mentioned parts.
