Hush is back, as H2SH brings Tommy Elliott back to Gotham once again, to wreak some havoc beginning with 2025’s Batman #158.
He’s baaaaack
It has been awhile since DC Comics fans have seen Hush, the once friend of Bruce Wayne otherwise known as Tommy Elliot. When we last saw him, the villain was seemingly killed in a helicopter crash at the close of the original, acclaimed Hush tale.
As things tend to go in comics though, things weren’t quite what they seemed. The bandaged Hush is returning in 2025 for a brand new sequel tale, and DC Comics has unleashed a sampling of covers along with some intriguing artwork.
Seen above is an inter-connecting cover set from artist Gabriele Dell’otto that will run the length of the story, from Batman #158 through #163. It’s not clear whether it’s a callback to the original or not, but if not, then it reveals that fans can expect to see the original story’s cast back for Hush 2, including Superman.
There’s also a single preview page (below), showcasing the Dark Knight taking down some crooks. Here there’s definitely a callback, but to the feature film, The Dark Knight. As you can see, the bad guys are wearing clown masks reminiscent of the famed opening scene to that movie.
There’s a glaring difference between the two though, as this gang seems like it might be infected with a new Joker toxin.
From the creative team of writer Jeph Loeb and artists Jim Lee, Scott Williams and Alex Sinclair, Batman #158 will arrive on the stands on March 26th, 2025. As mentioned above, there’s a monster slate of covers planned, across both the kickoff issue and what we assume to be crossover books like Poison Ivy #30, Superman #23, and Nightwing #123.
Check out the variants for Batman #158, and those crossover pieces in the galleries below. As a special tease of what’s to come too, DC has released the first cover image from Batman #159. It’s pretty striking, and you can find it at the close of the first gallery.
