A property that’s ripe for a comeback, the Power Lords are making their way into the Nacelleverse with a new comic this January.
We are excite
Okay, so we have to make a bit of an admission here before we start. Namely, that we’re pretty big fans of the niche 80s property, Power Lords. While it definitely wasn’t in the same realm as some of the heavy hitters of the decade, the toys were flat-out awesome and ultra-imaginative. At least, that’s how we remember them.
Apparently it’s how The Nacelle Company remembers them too, since the long-awaited Power Lords reboot is finally coming up, and fast. The license holder and publisher Oni Press just made the big reveal today that Power Lords would be the next in line for addition to The Nacelleverse.
If you haven’t been following, that’s a shared universe which is bringing together a series of formerly forgotten IP’s from decades past. We’ve already seen Robo Force, Biker Mice from Mars, and Sectaurs, but now it’s Adam Power’s turn to see some action.
Enter an alien realm beyond imagination as the beloved toy icons return to fuel 2025’s most epic, galaxy-spanning cosmic adventure from acclaimed writers Dennis Culver (Unstoppable Doom Patrol) & Matt Hotson (Power Rangers: The Return) and blockbuster artist V Ken Marion (Green Lantern)! When deep-space smuggler Adam Power comes into possession of the mysterious Power Jewel, he finds himself transformed into something far greater and more powerful than the sum of his parts—only to discover he’s been drafted into an eons-old battle between good and evil that could rend entire galaxies asunder! Standing alongside Shaya the Queen of Power, Sydot, and more, Adam Power is about to face the ultimate evil in the galaxy – Arkus! The next chapter of the NACELLEVERSE starts here as the POWER LORDS are reborn for a new generation!
Oni Press press release
As you can see there, Power Lords will be making a grand arrival with its first issue. The title will sport a selection of four covers that have been announced, along with two additional, plus a blank one for those who like to hit the Cons to get autographs and sketches.
From the looks of the art and that splash that you see topping this article, we’re expecting the visuals to be top notch for Power Lords, and we can’t wait to see the final product. Again too, that debut isn’t far off, as Power Lords #1 (of 4) is scheduled to arrive on January 29th, 2025.
