Ubisoft delays Assassin’s Creed Shadows into 2025

It might be a little tough to believe, but yes, Ubisoft has indeed pushed Assassin’s Creed Shadows into next year.

Interesting

Assassin’s Creed games are kind of a sure thing. They’re still big sellers for publisher Ubisoft, and you can also pretty much set your watch by their launches. Outside of a few examples, they tend not to miss those dates. This year though, things are a little different.

This year that latter fact isn’t in play, as Assassin’s Creed Shadows is indeed missing its November 15th (2024) release date, and will be moving to February 14th, 2025. The reason? The game needs more polish and refinement.

So there you have it. Of course, it’s worth mentioning that Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been involved in a fair bit of online controversy as well, so a delay might be a good thing in terms of that. Though pre-orders looked good anyway, it couldn’t hurt is all we’re saying.

From where we sit, it’s also worth mentioning that there’s some nice customer service and appreciation on display in this announcement. Ubisoft not only will refund all current pre-orders, which is a nice step, but will also be including the game’s first story expansion for free with future pre-orders, as an incentive. That should make some fans happy.

To let you know however, you can’t log one of those new pre-orders just yet. And on top of that, just when that next period will open, also hasn’t been revealed. Stay tuned though, if you’d like to hop back on the Shadows train, as February 14th isn’t all that far off.
