Godzilla Minus One finally gets physical edition pre-orders

Godzilla fans who prefer to build out a physical library of their favorite films will want to grab Godzilla Minus One, up for pre-order now.

Plus one physical edition

One of the most celebrated Godzilla movies of all time, Godzilla Minus One was a monster-sized hit with not just fans, but even those who normally aren’t into the classic kaiju. If you missed it, GMO took the legendary beast back to his start, for a new origin story that saw him rising in the after-effects of World War II.

While the movie is available now online, it only makes sense that many of the big guy’s fans would want to get a physical copy. We’re always of that mind, since you really never know when you might lose access to a film (or game) via digital means.

If that’s you too, then you’ll be happy to know that Godzilla Minus One is up right now for pre-order, by way of US and Canadian retailers. It’s not just one version either, but four that have hit, and they include:

  • Godzilla Minus One Steelbook (4K UHD + Blu-ray + Blu-ray Bonus)
  • Godzilla Minus One 4K (4K + Blu-ray Bonus)
  • Godzilla Minus One Blu-Ray (Blu-ray + Blu-ray Bonus)
  • Godzilla Minus One DVD (DVD)

A few quick notes before you order. The new editions will include audio in Japanese or English (dubbed for the latter, natch’), or will alternately serve up subtitles in English, French, or Spanish. What you won’t find in any of the western releases though, is Godzilla Minus One/Minus Color.

The popular black and white version of the movie was included in the Japanese Collector’s Edition, but will be left out of these US and Canadian drops. Does that mean that there’ll be another version of the movie hitting discs at some point? While we have no idea, it seems likely.

If you want a copy of Godzilla Minus One, you might want to keep watch too, as the press release lists pre-orders as being available at “at Retailers Nationwide”. We took a quick look at several big-boxes at the time of this writing and didn’t find a listing yet, so stay tuned and keep checking.
