Hot Toys gives the “Batman Armory” another go, with version 2.0

Already a pretty terrific collectible item, Hot Toys has revamped the Batman Armory a bit, and has version 2.0 en route.

The Dark Knight returns

Arguably some of Hot Toys’ coolest superhero movie-figures have spun out of Christopher Nolan’s “Dark Knight” trilogy. Starring Christian Bale as Batman and Bruce Wayne, the films delivered iconic and unique visions of its title hero, Joker, Scarecrow, and more. As mentioned too, collectible company Hot Toys has delivered some of the coolest stuff from that series of films, including the Batman Armory. But while the original piece with that designation was pretty darn slick already, its followup might be even better.

Just revealed in full, Batman Armory 2.0 includes both Batman and Bruce Wayne figures, as well as the headlining “Armory”. Naturally not everything is the same as the first run set though, and 2.0 comes packing a new head sculpt and “newly tailored suit” for Wayne, plus enhanced detailing on the Batman, featuring “a newly crafted Batman cowl, and a refined Batsuit”, according to Sideshow’s store listing.

Add to that the rolling-eyeball feature that Hot Toys has gone all in on, and what appears to be swappable parts (which isn’t mentioned), and you have what might be the ultimate Dark Knight.

Inspired by Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight, Hot Toys continues its Movie Masterpiece Series with the Batman™ Armory with Bruce Wayne™ 1/6 Scale Collectible Set. A must-have for Batman fans, the set includes an incredibly detailed armory with a Batman figure and a Bruce Wayne figure.

The Armory features an LED light-up function on the ceiling, two pairs of swing-open doors with a magnetic closure, and pull-out cabinets. There’s also a huge array of gadgets and armaments including Batarangs, sticky bombs, grappling hooks, and utility belts. This spectacular set creates a wonderfully immersive and detailed display which will elevate any DC collection.

The Batman Figure features a newly crafted Batman cowl and a refined Batsuit with accurate detailing around the neck, shoulders, gauntlet and back, plus a black fabric cape. This highly poseable piece has 30 points of articulation and is equipped with Hot Toys’ innovative rolling eyeball system, allowing collectors to adjust the figure’s gaze.

The Bruce Wayne Figure features a hand-painted headsculpt with a detailed likeness of Christian Bale in the role and also utilizes Hot Toys’ amazing rolling eyeball function, allowing for nuanced expressions. This highly articulated figure is dressed in an expertly tailored suit which includes a pinstriped blazer, vest, and pants with a striped shirt plus a dark red tie. The stylish Mr. Wayne also comes with a watch.
