Spinning out of The Clone Wars and into The Bad Batch’s era, is the Imperial Commando from Hot Toys. Check out the unboxing.
So they’re not Clones though, right?
We have to admit, here at BGT we’ve not been keeping up with the dozens (might be an overstatement) of Star Wars shows on Disney+. So whether these Imperial Commandos, which originated as the Republic Commandos in The Clone Wars era, were clones or not. Since the Stormtroopers started as a mixture of clones and conscripts though, we just assume it’s the same for the Commandos. And whatever way you want to slice it, you can’t deny they wear some wicked armor.
Hot Toys sure does, as the toy-maker has one on tap, set to be available for pre-ordering soon. Apparently the shipping date for these bad boys is some time pretty soon too, since the company’s retailing partners at Sideshow have an unboxing ready for fans to check out.
As seen in Star Wars: The Bad Batch™, the Imperial commandos are an elite clone unit tasked with protecting the research facility at Tantiss™ base.
Featuring an LED light-up helmet, the figure wears clone commando armor with deep gray markings and a distressed effect. This detailed collectible piece is highly poseable with 30 points of articulation. Ready for duty, the Imperial Commando™ Figure comes with a blaster rifle, two thermal detonators, and a military backpack that can be attached magnetically.
The limited-edition Imperial Commando™ 1/6 Scale Figure by Hot Toys will be available to pre-order from Sideshow at 1 PM (PT), May 17.
Sideshow Toys press release
As you can see above, the Imperial Commando isn’t ready for order just yet. The figure is being prepped for pre-orders starting at 1pm (Pacific time) today, and as such we don’t even have a shipping window just yet. But since we’ve got an unboxing, and those tend to be posted relatively close to when a figure ships, we’d imagine that magical date is going to be some time soon.
Want one? Hit one of the links above now, and you’l be able to grab an RSVP. That way you’ll get an email reminder when the figure goes up for pre-order this afternoon.
