The wasteland returns to the big screen this month, and Mad Max fans will be able to catch Furiosa in IMAX theaters as well.
Bigger apocalypse
A prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road, the latest entry in the long-running film series from director George Miller follows a young Furiosa. Played by Anya Taylor-Joy, the film tells the story of how Furiosa came into the employ of Fury Road’s villain, Immortan Joe. But that’s not all, as the film also introduces a massive biker gang of villains, led by the warlord Dementus. And of course he’s played by MCU “Thor” star Chris Hemsworth.
With the film on the way to theaters worldwide this month, IMAX has announced that the biggest screens in the world will also play host to Miller’s wasteland.
As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.
