The second entry in Hot Toys’ awesome looking new comics-focused series, Spider-Man gets a full unboxing from Sideshow.
Spider-sense tingling
Known for movie-inspired figures, Hot Toys has a long history of making some pretty fantastic stuff. Still, there are probably more than a handful of fans who would prefer it if they went all-in on more comics-centric stuff. If you’re in that lot, then you’re going to want to have a look at the company’s latest item.
Ripped right from the printed page, comes Peter Parker himself, clad in his most iconic Spider-Man costume. And this is maybe the most ‘complete’ version of that suit too, coming with big eyes, small eyes, reflective eyes, optional external web-shooters, webbed-wings, and even a camera.
The figure is about to land on Sideshow Toys for pre-order (today), and to celebrate that the retailer has unleashed one of its unboxing videos. Check that out below.
Web-slinging his way straight off the page, the Spider-Man 1/6 Scale Figure by Hot Toys is a vibrant and dynamic comic book-inspired collectible. The highly poseable figure features a masked head with multiple pairs of interchangeable eye pieces, including a pair with a reflective chrome finish. Spidey wears a classic red and blue fabric suit with black insignia. The figure comes with an array of fun accessories including a camera, assorted spider-web shooting effects, a Green Goblin miniature, plus a comic art-inspired backdrop and graphics.
Sideshow Toys press release
Spidey here is unlike most other Hot Toys figure releases, in that he’s going to be super-limited. There’s no word on how many will be produced, but it’s apparently worth eschewing a normal pre-ordering period, instead going with an RSVP system.
So if you want one of these, you’d best get over to Sideshow asap, and grab one of the reservations. Once you’re on the list, you’ll have the chance to be one of the first to lock up a figure for yourself. For those who don’t get an RSVP in, any figures left will be listed on Sideshow’s shop some time after the pre-sale period ends, which again is today.
There’s no word on exactly when that might actually be though, and we imagine there’s certainly a good chance there won’t be any leftover. From the sound of things too, Spider-Man might actually sell out during the RSVP. So basically, if you don’t get a reservation you’re really taking your chances.
