Preview: Dark Souls returns to comics in January with The Willow King #1

A new Dark Souls saga is coming up in 2024, as the New Year ushers in Dark Souls: The Willow King #1. Here’s your first look.

The dark tale of Herad the Unlived

We first told you about this one a while back, but now we’ve got both a release date and a first-look for Dark Souls: The Willow King. And yes, Titan Comics has revealed that 2024 will be starting with a bang for fans of FromSoftware’s series of dark-fantasy video games.

The Willow King’s is a story that’s centered on a warrior called Herad, who had failed his King in the past and was killed. Now brought back to the world of the living, Herad once again finds himself in service to that same ruler King Ustrid of Uthrel, though this time things are a little different…

The mighty king USTRAD OF UTHREL linked the flame, after his servant Herad failed and was consumed by the fire, reduced to ashes. Now, the time has come to link the fire again, but Ustrad now refuses to do his duty to his kingdom. HERAD, resurrected as un kindled, returns to unite three mighty warriors to venture into the WILLOW KING’S domain, and do what needs to be done.
