Tactical mercenary action coming to consoles with Jagged Alliance 3

Just released for the PC, the latest entry in the iconic turn-based tactical series Jagged Alliance is coming to consoles.

Get tactical mercs

Jagged Alliance, if you’re unaware, has had a long and pretty well-received history. Though the series is only three (numbered) games deep, it’s been around for a while and has had a number of offshoots and spinoffs from varying developers and publishers. Now THQ Nordic has revealed that the latest game in the set, Jagged Alliance 3 which just hit the PC, will be coming to PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

Its release won’t represent the first time that a Jagged Alliance has appeared on gaming boxes, as even the Nintendo DS has hosted the franchise. There’s actually a long history there, and not all of it has been good. Though that’s something that might be changing with Jagged Alliance 3.

JA3 has been getting a very positive response on the PC, with a Metascore of 81%, and returns the main series to its roots. With badass mercs to command, and a hefty dose of classic action-movie charm, Jagged Alliance 3 has a lot to like for tactical fans.

Exciting News for Console Gamers! Get ready to dive into the world of strategic brilliance as Jagged Alliance 3, the highly acclaimed turn-based tactics game, gears up to make its grand debut on both PlayStation and Xbox platforms. Settle into the comfort of your couch, take command of your skilled mercenaries, and embark on a mission to rescue the nation of Grand Chien.

THQ Nordic press release

There are some high hopes for this port, with THQ Nordic’s press release saying it’ll redefine “strategic gaming on consoles”. Fingers crossed for that, as there hasn’t exactly been a steady stream of games in the genre for non-PC players.

Also you might not want to set any dates on the calendar just yet for the game’s release. Also according to the press release, “Jagged Alliance 3 undergoes meticulous development” at the moment, for both PlayStation and Xbox platforms. So it might be a little while til you can command your squads from the old easy chair.

But, like actually get tactical

Even with the game being a ways off, it’s also worth reporting that its Tactical Edition is back in stock at THQ Nordic. This is a loaded pack of goodies that fans might very well be interested in, which sold out pretty quickly during the game’s original pre-release period (for the PC). There’s no version of the actual game included, so you have to order that separately, but if you’re looking for cool stuff, it’s got plenty of that.
