UN agent Raven and newcomer Azucena arrive for Bandai Namco’s Tekken 8

Two more fighters have been confirmed for Tekken 8, including a familiar face and a fresh addition who’s a coffee-maven turned fighter.

What about me?!

What about Raven?! Well, if you were pondering that very question, you can officially relax, because the Tekken 6 fighter is indeed back for T8. Bandai Namco confirmed a pair of roster additions yesterday for the still somewhat mysterious fighting game, at Evo.

Fresh from the event-floor came word that not only was Raven set to be in action for the upcoming release, but so would be a new fighter named Azucena. And not only is this original battler fierce with her hands, but she also brews a mean cup ‘o’ joe. Actually, that’s the whole reason she entered into the Iron Fist tournament; to promote her coffee company. No, really.

Raven returns:

After his disappearance following the events of TEKKEN 6, Raven returns to the legendary fighting game franchise. A secret agent of the UN’s intelligence service, Raven has undergone intensive training and now mixes his ninjutsu techniques with powerful new abilities such as using clones and teleportation.

While Raven looks spectacular in action, he’s something of a known quantity thanks to his appearance in past Tekken titles. Azucena though, it’s all together new, and looks to be a… let’s say ‘tough’ fighter to take on. She appears to be fast and agile, with a propensity to dodge.

Azucena debuts:

Meet Azucena, the Peruvian “Coffee Queen” turned MMA fighter making her debut in the series. A sly and shifty fighter, Azucena’s unconventional techniques like the Liberador have made her a beloved MMA star. She joins “The King of Iron Fist” tournament to use her fighting fame to promote her family’s coffee farm back home.

Bandai Namco press release

Set for release some time this year, Tekken 8 is inbound for the Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC.
