Contra returns in energy drink from from G FUEL

Get me Bill Rizer… and Lance Bean! It’s time (almost) to grab that Rapid Fire power-up and guzzle some of G FUEL’s new Contra energy drink.

We call it… CONTRA

You find yourself in the 27th century. Two commandos, Bill Rizer and Lance Bean, give you a brief and a brand-new power-up to welcome you as the newest member of the special guerrilla task force, code-named CONTRA. Load up and defeat the armies of alien invaders seeking to destroy the Earth with the G FUEL Rapid Fire Collector’s Box. Rapid Fire’s delightfully sweet mandarin orange taste is matched by the epic full-art Collector’s Box which shows Bill and Lance fighting off hordes of alien enemy combatants from the franchise’s 8-bit debut. Each Collector’s Box comes with the new G FUEL Rapid Fire 40-Serving Tub and an exclusive 16 oz Shaker Cup that is completely wrapped in a CONTRA action scene.

G FUEL press release

Sugar-free and “loaded with antioxidants from 18 different fruit extracts”, G FUEL’s Contra-branded “Rapid Fire” Energy Formula comes to fans in partnership with the game series’ publisher Konami. As you can see above, the result is not only a drink mix, but also a special Collector’s Box.

That Box includes not only Contra-themed drink powder, but also a special 16oz shaker cup. Even the packaging will include Contra graphics, so if you’re a big fan this is a pretty slick collectible.

As for the drink, it’ll pack a “Mandarin orange” flavor that G FUEL says will be “delightfully sweet”. The launch tub will contain 40 servings of said beverage, each with 15 calories” and containing “140 mg of caffeine.”

You can pre-order either the box set or a tub of the powder itself via G FUEL’s online shop right now, with both set to ship this May. Check it out here.
