Wall-meat ahoy, here’s the latest on the Dead Cells/Castlevania mashup

Castlevania fans might not have gotten a new game in a while, but thanks to Dead Cells they’ll be able to relive some lost glory with the new expansion.

Crack that whip

While it’s not really a ‘crossover’, the upcoming fusion of the award-winning roguelike Dead Cells and the iconic platformer Castlevania is nonetheless looking great. If you missed the news a few months back, the blending of the two horror worlds will come to fans by way of an expansion.

The world of Castlevania will be a new biome for Dead Cells players to battle through. This’ll be more than just the backdrop though, and will have classic ‘vania baddies like werewolves and skeletons, as well as some of the best-known weapons from heroes like Alucard and Richter Belmont.

Here’s a full minute of gameplay from the pack, as shown during Nintendo’s latest Direct:

Along with the new look at the expansion, came the opening of pre-orders. Those are available right now by way of Nintendo’s eShop, plus the PC through the Epic Game Store.

The new pack will be available a’la carte for $9.99 USD, but that’s just the tip of the pre-release iceberg. There’s also a bundle deal with the base title plus the new Castlevania expansion is available for $22.99, plus an all-encompassing collection. That one includes the original and all of the previously released DLC (including Castlevania) for $31.99. Just note that the above prices might change a bit, depending on your region.

As for the actual date of launch, you can look for all of the above to hit on March 6th. The expansion pack will be coming up for the Xbox and PlayStation platforms, as well as the aforementioned Switch and PC.
