Artist J. Scott Campbell’s Fairytale Fantasies collection gets its Evil Queen

The wicked one has arrived, or will soon anyway, in J. Scott Campbell’s Fairytale Fantasies Collection from Sideshow. Check out the Evil Queen.

Wicked

Evil doesn’t get much more alluring than what J. Scott Campbell has cooked up for his next Fairytale Fantasies reveal. The artist is probably best known as the creator of Danger Girl, as well as being a Marvel and DC Comics mainstay.

Together with Sideshow, he has his statue line rolling now, with the Evil Queen joining the existing lineup. Based on the famed Snow White character from fairytale history, the Evil Queen is instantly recognizable. But of course, she’s simultaneously sporting an original visage as well, dreamed up by the comic book icon.

And as you can see, there’s a ton of cool stuff happening with this piece, including an accompanying magic mirror that’s boxed with the Deluxe Edition.

Inspired by the story of Snow White, the Evil Queen Deluxe Statue is a deliciously villainous addition to the Fairytale Fantasies collection. Standing on the stone staircase of her throne room holding a goblet of wine, she prepares to poison the rival to her title of Fairest in the Land. Swirls of magic spill over the top as her colorful and caustic brew forms smoking skulls at her feet. The fully sculpted Evil Queen is dressed in sumptuous dark reds and purples, and finished with a majestic golden crown.

The accompanying Magic Mirror proximity figure features a grim mask-like visage in the center of the looking glass, engulfed in curling blue and green sculpted flames. The silvery-blue mirror stand has an intricate, sharp design with sculpted reliefs on the back that depict a sword, skulls, roses, and a heart, all in reference to the classic tale.

Sideshow press release

The Evil Queen is up for pre-order right now, and set to ship out in summer 2023. The base edition is priced in at $375 USD, while the Deluxe (complete with the man in the mirror) is a hundred bucks more.
