Marvel’s FCBD 22 includes a sneak-peek at Judgement Day

It’s a trio of teams that’ll be coming together for one of Marvel Comics’ Free Comic Book Day titles in 2022, with Avengers meeting X-Men and Eternals.

Three… amigos?

It’s not going to be all that friendly, but yes three of Marvel Comics’ biggest teams will be meeting in this newly detailed FCBD ’22 title. Well, 2 of the biggest anyway. And then throw in the Eternals too.

Teased in some preview imagery a few weeks back, this book is actually a lead-in to what’ll be a big arc hitting the Marvel U. Judgement Day will feature the Eternals reclassifying Marvel’s mutants as Deviants. And if you know anything about what that means in relation to the Eternals, then you know it’s not great for the X-Men.

The Avengers kind of get stuck in between the two new enemies from the sound of things. This issue might shed some light on how, but it also will intro a brand new character.

Written by Kieron Gillen with art by Valerio Schiti, JUDGMENT DAY will see the Avengers try desperately to avert a war between the Eternals and the X-Men. Fans will get their first glimpse at the conflict in FREE COMIC BOOK DAY: AVENGERS/X-MEN with a prelude story by Gillen and artist Dustin Weaver.

Also coming this summer will be the X-Men’s second annual HELLFIRE GALA! Last year, mutantkind terraformed Mars and announced a new team of X-Men… what do they have in store for the Marvel Universe this time around? Find out in a lead-in story by X-MEN scribe Gerry Duggan and artist Matteo Lolli!

FREE COMIC BOOK DAY: AVENGERS/X-MEN #1 will also mark the exciting debut of a new hero that Marvel has big plans for this year! Meet BLOODLINE in an introduction story by writer Danny Lore and artist Karen Darboe!

Marvel Comics press release

Free Comic Book Day: Avengers/X-Men arrives in participating Free Comic Book Day stores on May 7th.
