Topps and Mego dig into Halloween with Hunchback and Grim Reaper figures

Retro horror fans should love this news, as a pair of new Mego horror figures are up for pre-order (with more coming), but only til October 11th.

Limited time terror

All the rage in decades past, toy company Mego made a terrific comeback several years back. Not only did the manufacturer revive its fan-favorite superheroes line (with both Marvel and DC), but it also started branching out into general entertainment properties.

To date, Mego has offered figures of everything from Batman to the Golden Girls, and it doesn’t look like it’ll be stopping any time soon. Case in point, a partnership with publisher Topps, to bring some horror icons to fans.

The Grim Reaper being a collector of sorts himself wants everyone to add this all new Mego action figure to their collections … or beware. Exploring the catacombs of the sacred basilica, Mego has returned with the all-new Hunchback action figure!

Topps press release

The above will come complete with classically styled clothing and accessories, and clock in at 8″ tall. But as with all horror-themed happenings, there’s a twist to this.

Both figures will only be available as pre-orders, and only until the 11th of this very month. Then they’ll fade away into the ether, never to be seen again.

Don’t fret though, because there’s much more to come. Topps and Mego will be offering more limited-time figures of the same ilk all month long. According to Topps, these will not just be limited to the 8″ scale either, and will include some 14-inchers.

Stay tuned for more on that, and click here to order up these two ghastly ghouls.
