Actor Omid Abtahi chats about hits turn as Hawkman in Justice Society: World War II

Get an inside look at Warner Bros forthcoming Justice Society: World War II, with the animated film’s Hawkman, actor Omid Abtahi.

Flying high

Hawkman is a pretty interesting character, when you really dig into the superhero’s past. He’s had a bunch of incarnations over the years, though almost all of them have had a few things in common. Namely, that he’s tied to both the alien world of Thanagar, that he wields Nth Metal weaponry and armor, and that he’s a reincarnated son of ancient Egypt. And that last part is where Omid Abtahi comes in.

You might not know the name out of hand, but you likely know his work. Abtahi has been on screen in American Gods and Better Call Saul, and has starred in the movie Argo. He’s also voiced characters in World of Warcraft and Call of Duty. So yes, he’s got some cred for sure.

Now the actor is playing Hawkman in Justice Society: World War II, which is the next film in the DC Universe Movies series. He recently spoke about about the role, in terms of playing a superhero who’s middle eastern, as well how impressed he was with the script for the film, and more.
