Megalopolis brings back Madballs, Clay Fighter, Battletoads and more as new action figures

Megalopolis is branching out. No longer content to just sell toys, the retailer is set to produce its own from an impressive list of licenses.

Bringing back the classics

Nostalgia is a powerful thing, and it’s a big part of what Megalopolis Toys is set to do with its new initiative. The company, which started a few years back as a collector-focused toy retailer, is about to start making some excellent-sounding figures of its own.

We knew this was coming for a little while of course. Rebirths for Madballs and Barnyard Commandos, both licensed from Cloudco Entertainmen, were announced already. But now Megalopolis has added an incredibly impressive list of licenses to go with those.

Taken in it’s entirety, the initial list of lines includes IP’s from classic video game development houses Rare and Interplay. Here’s a taste of what’s coming up:

  • Madballs
  • Barnyard Commandos
  • Earthworm Jim
  • Clay Fighter
  • Battletoads
  • Banjo Kazooie
  • Conkers Bad Fur Day
  • Perfect Dark

Now, before you ask, there aren’t many details on any of this just yet. What we can report though, is that Battletoads, Clay Fighter, and Earthworm Jim (at least) will be full lines of action figures.

Yeah, get excited.

“We are ecstatic to be adding these incredible properties to our growing catalog. Fans of Battletoads have been asking ‘where are the toys’ for decades, and we are answering that call with an expansive selection of characters and styles that will satiate the appetite of even the most diehard fans.

Our partnership with Interplay is giving us the chance to re-imagine Earthworm Jim as a modernized, highly articulated collector line. This amazing property has been ripe for an updated line for years. We will now have the chance to make the full catalog of characters from across the entire Clay Fighter franchise.”

Ben Westover,  Creative Director/Co-Founder of Megalopolis

Pre-orders will begin by the end of the year for some of what’s being worked on. Expect to get them in your hands next summer.
