Valiant Comics first big screen film is almost here. Today marked the first trailer for Bloodshot, starring action star Vin Diesel.
Reborn
One of Valiant’s biggest heroes, Bloodshot is a soldier reborn. Revived after death thanks to military contractor Project Rising Spirit, Ray Garrison finds himself loaded up with nanites. The microscopic robots can rebuild him as he’s damaged in combat, making him nearly invulnerable.
Unfortunately, there’s a big catch. Ray also finds himself with questionable memories of his true life. So he can’t really tell what’s real and what isn’t. That of course, leads him to break out of the mold he was cast in, and into a life of super heroics.
The upcoming film from director Dave Wilson looks to adapt that original tale, though with what looks to be some alterations. If you’re a fan, I assume the first thing you’ll note here is that Bloodshot doesn’t look like… Bloodshot. Whether or not that changes during the movie remains to be seen, but it’d certainly make for a big moment.
Here’s the trailer:
While you wait for the movie, why not read the original? Valiant also reminds fans today, that the basis for the flick is out right now in graphic novel format.
Bloodshot Definitive Edition includes issues zero through 13 from the 2012 run. The header image for this post is the cover, just so you know what you’re looking for.
As for the film, Bloodshot hits theaters on February 21st, 2020.
