New Team Sonic Racing gameplay trailer revs up

Get a peek at some more of the gameplay in Sega’s latest kart racer in the new Team Sonic Racing trailer.

The year of the kart racer? Maybe, with a few kart racing games coming up in 2019, across a few different platforms. One of the best looking though, is pretty easily Team Sonic Racing.

Not only a competitive arcade racer, Team Sonic Racing is exactly what the name implies. This kart racer gives race fans plenty on the customization end of things to play with. That’s in addition to the team experience, which is kind of rare in the genre.

Sega says that players will be able to race together online or off. That includes an offline co-op mode that gives players the ability to team up “utilizing the dynamic team mechanics” that the game offers.

Developed by Sumo, Team Sonic Racing will feature locales and characters from across Sonic’s universe. As you can see in the trailer, that means you’ll get to ride with the main Hog himself, as well as the likes of Doc Robotnik, Shadow, and even the illustrious Big the Cat.

All of this is not at all far off either. Team Sonic Racing is set to pull onto the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PS4, and PC on May the 21st.
