Nintendo touts indie lineup in new compilation video

Did you get a Switch or some fresh Nintendo eShop credit for the Holidays? Then Nintendo has you covered with a pretty impressive lineup of Nindies.

Nintacular

Nindies, if you don’t know, are indie games on the Switch (or 3DS). There’s nothing particularly “Nintendo” about them, especially since some of them appear elsewhere as well. It’s pretty much just a term that the Big N uses for its hosted stable of independently-made games. Though, maybe I should say “used”, since the term is absent from today’s press release. Nonetheless, the spirit is the same as before, and it’s been a bang-up year for the indie title on Nintendo’s platform.

The Switch has seen a bunch of high-profile indie games hit, including titles like Inside and Dead Cells. This is great stuff, some of which can stand right there in terms of fun and innovation with the biggest games on the calendar.

So to celebrate all of this, the company has crafted a short look at a few of the best on Switch. These include the aforementioned, as well as titles like Necrodancer, Mark of the Ninja, and Dust.

All of the games in the featurette are available right now, though the company is also talking about a few more that are on the way. Next year will see the arrival of games like “Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes on Jan. 18, Shovel Knight: King of Cards on April 9 and Untitled Goose Game”.

Of course, those are just the tip of the iceberg as many more will be arriving on the platform as well, as 2019 rolls on.

In the meantime, here’s a few games that deserve a look if you’ve got a new console, or some credit burning a hole in that eShop account.

About Jason Micciche

Jason's been knee deep in videogames since he was but a lad. Cutting his teeth on the pixely glory that was the Atari 2600, he's been hack'n'slashing and shoot'em'uping ever since. Mainly an FPS and action guy, Jason enjoys the occasional well crafted title from every genre.
