Meet Konrad Vollen in Warhammer: Chaosbane’s new trailer

The more I see of the game, the more I like it. Warhammer: Chaosbane is looking insane in all the best ways as we meet Konrad Vollen.

First, watch this and marvel at the sheer amount of Chaos scum that you’ll be battling in Chaosbane.

Soldier of the Empire

Konrad Vollen, an Imperial Captain, was trained in armed combat from earliest childhood. A close combat specialist, his attacks are mainly melee and area-of-effect based. His shield allows him to take on vast hordes of enemies. Provocation, sprint, and whirling attack make him a very powerful first-line fighter. The Imperial Captain also has several banners that he can plant in the ground to galvanise his group and grant them significant bonuses.

Sounds like a good solid character for a first run through what Chaosbane will throw at you. Vollen, being a close combat guy, probably fits what most fantasy fans will want to try out right away too, since he’s all about hacking and slashing. Not that you won’t have any magic to play with, since you can see that Vollen certainly does. It’s just that it’s not the focus with the Imperial Captain.

As with all the rest of the characters, Vollen will also have something called BloodLust. That’s a special ability that will be charged by killing swathes of demons. Take out enough of them, and you’ll “unleash” your rage and ” ultra-powerful skills”.

So while there’s a temptation to call this “Inquisitor-Martyr in space” there are definite differences. Watch for lots more on this one, including the rest of the playable, as we get closer to launch. That’ll be next year by the way, when Chaosbane hits for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
