Bloodshot Salvation #7 (Comics) Preview

Total darkness doesn’t sound like it’d be conducive to a comic book. Bloodshot Salvation #7 though, is using it to its advantage.

I remember very well the issue of Marvel’s GI Joe (yes, that GI Joe) that was “silent”. The whole issue was sans word-bubbles and starred Snake-Eyes in a comic book that is still one of my favorites of all time. Yes folks, I mean that.

It sort of looks like Valiant is doing something similar with the seventh issue of Bloodshot Salvation here. Though, this one’s going to be even harder to pull off, since it’s got no imagery. Yeah that’s a tall order for a comic.

But take a quick look through the preview and pages accompanying this article and tell me you don’t want to read this one. Like, right now. The stakes are very high, the setting is terrifying, and the fear is palpable. And I have to admit, I’m more than a little worried about Bloodhound.

The darkness

“It’s the emotional journey of Ray over this issue that I connect with, not the physical one,” writer Jeff Lemire told Paste. “That feeling of trying to protect your child from a world that seems out of control. That’s something I can relate to as a parent, especially in the crazy world we are living in right now.”
