Forgotten Transformer gets the Combiner treatment

Ever hear of Liokaiser? No, probably not. But this forgotten Decepticon is converting to toy-mode thanks to Entertainment Earth.

Transform, and combine!

If you haven’t been paying attention for the last few years, Combiner Wars was a pretty big Transformers multimedia event. TF successfully combined (sorry) Transformers toys from Hasbro and comics from IDW to make a lasting impression. It brought back the Generation 1 characters everybody loves, and built a new spin on the Combiners. Those, if you’re not aware, are teams of Autobots and Decepticons who can merge into monster-sized robots. It was awesome.

Since then, the line has transmogrified into Titans Return, which brings back even more fan-favorites. And, you know, even bigger ‘bots. It is -also- quite awesome. But let’s go back to Combiner Wars for a sec, because it’s there that Liokaiser here fits in.

An Entertainment Earth exclusive item, Liokaiser hasn’t figured into any comics or the toy line till now. And before you ask, yes, he is an older character brought back to life, like the rest of the series’ regulars. You might not remember him though, since he was strictly an Eastern affair.

Appearing only in the Japanese Transformers: Victory series, this guy’s a Decepticon and a part of the Beast Force. I’ve never seen the cartoon, but the toy is made up of a bunch of different, already-existing figures. They’re all repainted of course, so he’ll look like noting else that you have on your shelf. As repaints go, he actually looks pretty awesome. And, of course this is the first time he’s appearing outside of Japan, which is a neat little fact in and of itself.

Also pretty neat is that you can score a solid deal on him right now. Only available in a box set, Liokaiser is $20 USD off the tagged price, and ships for free with the code SINGLES. He’ll also include a diorama of some kind. Nice little bonus there. Just add that code during checkout on Entertainment Earth and you’re good to go.

Liokaiser’s normal price is $129.99 USD, and he’s available right now.  Click here to grab one for yourself.
