Nidhogg 2 Announced for the PS4

Nidhogg 2 will not be limited to just one platform.

Nidhogg was a well received little game from 2014. You engage in bloody sword fights with a friend or the A.I., all so you can reach the far end of the screen. And get eaten by a giant worm thing. It received a lot of positive feedback with its fast paced and frantic combat system. Some time ago, a sequel, Nidhogg 2, was announced for the PC. Fans will be glad to hear that Nidhogg 2 will not be exclusive to the PC and will be coming to the PS4

Nidhogg 2 is planning to add quite a bit to the formula. A sword was the only weapon that could be used in the first game. Aside from fists of course. A variety of new weapons will be added in the sequel Axes, knives, and bows and arrows. Each one with a unique feel to them, to give the game more depth. This, along with a new soundtrack, new levels, and new challenge modes puts quite a lot in this game.

The game has also received a massive art overall. Instead of simple sprites reminiscent of the Atari 2600, fully detailed sprites are being utilized. Although these designs are proving to be very decisive. Nearly every video featuring them has been massively downvoted. Only time will tell how much this will affect the game as a whole.

Nidhogg 2 is aiming for a 2017 release date.
