Blood, gore and the world of Inquisitor – Martyr

Warhammer 40k: Inquisitor – Martyr is a dark and blood-soaked adventure in Games Workshop’s classic universe.

In the grim darkness of the far future

Not much to dislike about that if you’re a fan of Warhammer 40k. The grim and gritty action might remind you of the Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing action-RPG series just a bit, and there’s a very good reason for that. That, of course, is because NeocoreGames is behind both.

That’s no slight either, as Van Helsing was a pretty terrific hack’n slash that resulted in a pair of sequels. Inquisitor – Martyr builds on those games, and also adds in a heck of a lot of blood and gore. And oh my does it looks like it has some fun with it.

Just wading into combat is one thing (and looks pretty great in and of itself), but the game offers far more. As you can see in the trailer above, the latest game in the Warhammer franchise adds in environmental combat possibilities, finishing moves, and targeting.

So, much like in Fallout, you can target arms, legs, or go for a headshot. That’s pretty different for a game like this, since we’re not talking about a first-person experience here. So it could play as a more tactical experience. Pretty cool overall.

As for a release date, there isn’t one yet. Look for more on Warhammer 40k: Inquisitor – Martyr though, as we head into Gamescom.
