EA teases The Battle of Jakku in new Star Wars: Battlefront trailer

Almost three decades after Return of the Jedi, the Empire is still clinging to a little planet called Jakku.

Now, no matter how you feel about Battlefront (and there are some detractors), you have to admit that that was pretty cool. I know it’s not ‘gameplay’ footage and it’s just a few seconds long, but there’s so much to like in that little tease that it’s hard not to get excited for DICE’s reinvention of the classic Battlefront formula.

The Battle of Jakku is a pivotal point in the new Star Wars universe expansion that begins with The Force Awakens, just in case you don’t know, and features the Empire battling the Alliance on the title planet. From the looks of things, it seems as though the Imperial forces get a royal ass-kicking too. Though that could change of course (well, for you anyway, not in the canon), depending on how you choose to play it out in the game.

Star Wars Battlefront launches on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 17th.
