Batman ’89 Batmobile and skin pack released for Arkham Knight

Don the garb of Michael Keaton’s Batman from the 1989 Tim Burton classic in this new DLC for Batman: Arkham Knight.

One of the most iconic visions of the Dark Knight was pretty easily from the first two Batman films in the original film series. And with that in mind, there should be a bevy of fans rushing to download this skin and car pack for Arkham Knight. Personally, I wish this costume was available while I was playing the campaign  because, while the game’s look and the New 52 skin (which I used) are great, this one’s just plain awesome. And as a nice little extra, you can actually use the movie Batmobile in the single-player game if you can clear out all the drone tanks (which really isn’t all that hard).

With the 1989 Movie Batmobile Pack, you can get behind the wheel of the Batmobile from the 1989 film ‘Batman’ and outfit Batman with a customized skin from the film. The pack gives you access to two racetracks inspired by both the 1989 film ‘Batman’ and the film’s sequel ‘Batman Returns’. In addition, if you successfully clear the streets of the Arkham Knight’s drone tanks, you can take the Batmobile for a spin on the streets of Gotham City. Separately, the Bat-Family Skin Pack includes 6 skins based on the alternate timelines of your favorite characters including 1990s Catwoman, One Year Later Robin, Arkham Origins Batman, Iconic Grey & Black Batman, 1970s Batman and the Original Arkham Nightwing.

The pack is a part of the Season Pass, so if you’ve got that then you can play this one for no extra charge. If not, then you’re looking at $1.99 USD each, a’la carte. And remember, the DLC is available only for the Xbox One and PS4 editions of the game, as the PC version has yet to see its relaunch.

Of course, there’s lots more than just this pack on the way, and in short order too. Here’s a list of what you can expect to see hitting next month:

  • Crime Fighter Challenge Pack #1 (Sept. 1): Receive 6 AR challenges for Batman, Nightwing, Robin and Catwoman. This expansive challenge pack allows focused training in Freeflow Combat and Invisible Predator stealth incursion.
  • GCPD Lockdown (Later in Sept.): Set after the events of Arkham Knight, play as Nightwing to stop the Penguin from breaking out of the Gotham City Police Department in this thrilling story pack.
  • 2008 Tumbler Batmobile Pack (Later in Sept.): Inspired by the 2008 movie ‘The Dark Knight’, intimidate your foes with the Tumbler Batmobile and race through two themed tracks.
  • Original Arkham Batman Skin (Later in Sept.): Fight the war against Gotham City with the original Arkham Asylum Batman costume.
