Stunner for your trouble? Stone Cold is the WWE 2K16 cover star

Stone Cold! Stone Cold! Stone Cold! …is the cover star for the 2016 edition of the WWE game series from 2K.

It’s good to see that Smoking Skull Belt again. Pretty cool video too, and while I’d rather see Stone Cold Steve Austin back in the WWE hunting for the title belt, I’ll take a game appearance and it is pretty darn cool to see him on the cover of WWE 2K16. Austin will be not only seen on the cover, but he’ll also be a playable wrestler once again.

As for the actual game, there isn’t a lot of news to report on that front. WWE 2K16 hasn’t been detailed in any way as of yet, and so we’re still waiting of our first glimpse of it in action. Hopefully it’ll be an improvement on 2014’s model, which had John Cena on the cover. That edition of the game series was somewhat underwhelming and disappointed many who were expecting a rebirth following 2K picking up the franchise from the defunct THQ.

Cross your fingers wrestling fans, WWE 2K16 arrives on the PlayStation and Xbox families of consoles this Fall.
