If you’re heading to SDCC this week, you’ll be able to play around with the all-new Guitar Hero yourself, and jam with the game’s Hero Powers.
So nice to see that screen again. And Guitar Hero fans heading to the SDCC this week will be extra happy since they’ll actually be able to play the game at the Xbox Lounge. As usual, the Lounge will be open in the Manchester Grand Hyatt hotel, which is just down the street from the convention center, and will be playable each day that the show is open except Preview Night, which shakes out to be this Thursday through Sunday.
As for those Hero Powers I mentioned, the game offers in-game power-ups, which we already knew, but now they’re being a little better detailed. The power-ups will give gamers score boosts and a “competitive edge” as you play in the GHTV mode. If you’re not aware, that mode allows gamers to play Guitar Hero over an almost endless array of music videos that run online and stream through the GHTV feature.
It’s unclear right now if there are any Hero Powers that will be accessible in the regular ‘campaign’ mode of Guitar Hero Live, but it looks right now like they won’t be and that they’ll be limited to the TV mode. That’s probably not a bad thing as the game is already pretty arcade-y already.
Guitar Hero Live is set to hit the Xbox and PlayStation families of consoles, as well as the Wii U on October 20th.
