Sid Meier’s Civilization: Beyond Earth is Free on Steam This Weekend

In case you weren’t sure about buying the newest edition to the Civilization games, you can play it for free until 1 PM EST  on Steam. While my review of the game wasn’t so great, it is still definitely worth playing once. It is a very interesting and new take on the Civilization games in spite of some tedious play.

There is a promotion this weekend of 40% off the game by itself and a 50% off Classics bundle that includes Civilization III Complete, Civilization IV, Civilization V, and Civlization: Beyond Earth. The DLC Exoplanets map pack is not included in any of the offers, but is only $2.99. It includes six new map types based on real-world exoplanets.

Civilization: Beyond Earth is worth a play through and I encourage everyone to take advantage of the free weekend on Steam. Happy colonizing!
