Two more classic Tim Schafer adventure titles are on the way to Sony’s console. If you’re a fan of some of the best point-and-clicks of all time, this is some awesome news indeed.
Announced at the PlayStation Experience show this past weekend, both Broken Age and Day of the Tentacle will be joining Grim Fandango (announced at E3) on the PSN. Personally, while GF and Broken Age are both great titles, it’s Day of the Tentacle that’s really making me happy. I played the heck out of this game, going through the story more than a few times back in the 1990’s, and the Maniac Mansion sequel is pretty easily one of the best adventure games ever with tremendously funny writing and some truly inventive story elements and puzzles. And now that it’ll be getting the full revamp treatment for its premier on the PS4, it’s prepped for a whole new generation of gamers, and more than a few who’ll dive back in for another round I’d imagine.
Of course, it’s still a ways off from launch and there’s no date yet for either Day of the Tentacle or Broken Age, though we do know that Grim Fandango will be making it’s presence felt next month, in January 2015. There’s really nothing to show off yet from the game either, but rest assured, as soon as there is we’ll have it here for you. Now, how about Maniac Mansion?
