F.E.A.R. Online opens up, is free to play right now

Warner Bros and Aeria Games’ free-to-play online version of the popular shooter series is live and ready to spook up your October.

Free-to-play has a pretty ugly stigma among plenty of gamers of all types, but F.E.A.R. Online actually looks like a solid shooter. It also looks a fair bit like you’re probably used to F.E.A.R. looking, and that’s a very good thing as any fan of the supernatural shooter series will tell you.

It hits all the marks for the series too; highly-trained soldiers, monsters from beyond, and of course- Alma. As far as where this one fits in with the series on the whole, the game takes place between F.E.A.R. 2 and 3 and actually falls into the cannon for the series, which is pretty dang cool, especially for a free game.
