The Classic Dracula film from CBS’ archives returns on Blu Ray

If you remember 1974’s Dracula produced by Dan Curtis, then you remember a version of the famous tale that’s called one of scariest in televised history. If you don’t, now’s your chance to check it out in HD.

The revival of the TV movie from so long ago is brought to horror fans by MPI Home Video and is a faithful port of the film in all it’s glory. Jack Palance stars as the Dragon himself alongside Fiona Lewis as Lucy Westenra, Nigel Davenport as Van Helsing, and Simon Ward. The Richard Matheson directed film follows the Bram Stoker original book and was shot on location in both England and Yugoslavia; which come to think of it, seems like a pretty big budgeted affair for a television production in the ’70s.

Originally shown on CBS-TV in 1974, DAN CURTIS’ DRACULA has long been considered among the most frightening versions of the Dracula story; the
Los Angeles Times called Palance “the definitive Count Dracula – as flesh-crawling an experience as you’ve ever had.” Filmed on location in England and Yugoslavia,
DAN CURTIS’ DRACULA has been transferred and restored in 2K High Definition from the original 35mm camera negative and presented here on Blu-ray for the first time!
Dan Curtis’ Dracula sinks its fangs into Blu Ray players everywhere on May 27th for the asking price of $19.99 USD.
