Leo tries his Fortune on iOS

The very different looking platformer Leo’s Fortune is now available for all your rolling and floating needs on the Apple App Store.

Leo’s Fortune follows the story of Leopold, a wealthy mustached furball who returns home one day to discover his gold fortune has been stolen. The thief dropped gold like a trail of breadcrumbs, which Leo must follow to recover his fortune and find the culprit. Along the way you’ll meet Leo’s strange family and reveal a twisting mystery.

Cool stuff, no? Leo’s Fortune is definitely not your standard edition platformer and kind of reminds me of a cuter version of the PSP’s LocoRoco, which is far from being a bad thing. Coming out of Senri, a 4-person development team from Sweden, Leo’s Fortune is crafted to be a premium experience. Basically, that means that you can expect to get a full game and not have any in-app purchases throughout the game.

It’s interesting that Senri felt the need to point that out, but it’s also quite telling in an age where it seems like every game has IAP’s and most of the bigger releases are constantly looking for players to buy, buy, buy. Of course, that means that the price of admission for Leo’s Fortune isn’t free, but I’d rather pay for a full game up front any day of the week than have to worry about how much I’m spending on a free-to-play title after the fact. Not a fan.

In any event, Leo’s Fortune is available right now on the App Store and will cost you $4.99 USD. You can grab a copy here.
