Loki: Agent of Asgard #1 (Comics) Preview

The trickster and brother to Marvel’s God of Thunder, the mighty Thor, makes his presence felt in a brand new ongoing series that promises the uncanny (and not in the X-Men sense).

Old God—New Trickster! Marvel is pleased to present your first look at LOKI: AGENT OF ASGARD #1 from the spellbinding creative team of Al Ewing (Mighty Avengers) and Lee Garbett (X-O Manowar, Batgirl). LOKI is back and craftier than ever as the All-Mother’s secret weapon against Asgardia’s strangest threats. With his serpent’s tongue, debonair charm, and taste for the uncanny, there’s no assignment Loki won’t take—including the untimely stabbing of THOR! The surprises only start here for the Prince of Lies, as the most conniving corners of the Marvel Universe are blown open this February in LOKI: AGENT OF ASGARD #1!

Once little more than a semi-forgotten footnote to the Thor mythos and early days of the Avengers (her was their first villain, in the comics as much as in the movies) , Loki has absolutely exploded in popularity since his debut in the Thor film from Marvel Studios. The character, brought to life by actor Tom Hiddleston, has become a fan favorite not only on screen at this point, but also in the evolving Marvel Universe.

Now starring in his own stand-alone book, the trickster of the Norse realm stands apart from his ‘brother’ for the first time. Loki: Agent of Asgard should be an interesting read if for nothing else than that it casts the usual baddie as a hero of sorts- out to do the deeds Asgard needs done, but that its more overly heroic pantheon members probably wouldn’t touch with an Uru mallet.

The book debuts in just a few weeks time, so if you’re a fan (and you probably are at this point), make sure you get yourself over to your local comics shop and add ol’ horn-head’s newest to your pull list. Loki: Agent of Asgard drops in on stores on February 5th from the team of Al Ewing and the talented Lee Garbett.
