She-Hulk getting another crack at an ongoing series in 2014

Jennifer Walters is back in green -and the courtroom- this coming year.

She-Hulk has always been a really fun character with a great cross-section of action, superheroics and comedy. It’s actually been something of a mystery to me why her starring comics don’t last as the ’90s Sensational She-Hulk was a very solid book and a lot of fun. Hopefully, this latest comic just announced by Marvel from creators Charles Soule and Javier Pulido will deal the Bruce Banner’s cousin a kinder hand as She-Hulk is scheduled to hit stands in February of next year.

“We’re thrilled to be able to launch She-Hulk’s new book with Charles and Javier!” said series editor Jeanine Schaefer. “Of course, Charles being a practicing lawyer himself will definitely lend that extra authenticity to her day to day, but both of these guys are the best when they’re riding that line between street level and super hero, a line She-Hulk lives on. “

“She-Hulk has always been a title where weird, cool things can happen,” said Soule in an interview with USA Today. ‘She is a strong — very strong — female character, and comics absolutely cannot have enough of those.”

“[Charles & Javier] can both bring the emotional and literal gut-punches in a way no one else can, all set-against the larger than life world of the Marvel U that still sort of looks like the world we live in ourselves,” adds Schaefer.

Also very cool is that the new She-Hulk is Shulkie in her classic form- with a law firm of her own and trying to balance beating up both her courtroom opponents and her rogues gallery of super-powered baddies. As a member of the FF and the Avengers, you can probably bet on Jen getting some big-time guest stars here and there too.

Get your briefs in order, She-Hulk #1 hits stands in February.
