Focus Home teases Blood Bowl II

Fans of ridiculously violent football and dark fantasy rejoice – Blood Bowl is back.

Focus Home Interactive and developer Cyanide have paired American football with the Old World of Games Workshop’s Warhammer yet again- and this time they have their announce crew appearing live (or what passes for it) courtesy of Cabalnet.

Join Jim Johnson (the vampire) and Bob Bifford (the ogre) as they call games in the same manner as they did the first time around in Blood Bowl, but with 100% more face-time. Both Johnson and Bifford have been fully modeled and placed in their Cabalvision studio for BBII. The studio set isn’t just there for looks either as it will actually be the main interface for the game.

The whole game will be presented in a Cabalvision theme – the official Blood Bowl TV! – where Jim & Bob will guide players, comment their decisions and will even interview key star players appearing in the huge campaign mode. Of course, they will also grace us with their wild commentaries during the matches!

So it’s a more realistic TV presentation for a football game about ogres and orcs throttling eachother as they plow down the field then? Excellent.

I’m a big fan of Blood Bowl myself and whiled away many an hour playing the tabletop version of the game years ago, so I’m stoked to see the title getting another entry in the digital realm. There hasn’t been a release date as of yet announced for Blood Bowl II, but keep it where it is and we’ll have it for you as soon as it pops up.

About Jason Micciche

Jason's been knee deep in videogames since he was but a lad. Cutting his teeth on the pixely glory that was the Atari 2600, he's been hack'n'slashing and shoot'em'uping ever since. Mainly an FPS and action guy, Jason enjoys the occasional well crafted title from every genre.
