IGN launches Quantum & Woody webcomic

The entertainment mega-site IGN is getting a special six part webcomic starring the world’s worst superhero team.

Before the first issue of Quantum & Woody even hits stands this July, Valiant Comics and IGN are teaming to bring eager readers a special six part look at the characters.

Once upon a time, Eric and Woody Henderson were inseparable. Adopted brothers. Best friends. Brilliant minds. Years later, they are estranged siblings, petty rivals, and washed-up failures. But when their father’s murder leads them into the throes of a life-altering scientific accident, Eric and Woody will find themselves with a whole new purpose – and a perfectly legitimate reason to wear costumes and fight crime. Go big or go home, folks! Quantum and Woody are coming…and the zeitgeist-shredding exploitation stunt comic you demanded is here at last. (And, yes, there will be a goat too. Eventually.)

Now, in the lead-up to Quantum and Woody’s milestone first issue this July, get in on the ground floor of the adventures of the Valiant Universe’s ineptly aspiring heroes with a new installment of IGN Presents Quantum and Woody Weekly every Wednesday! What are the origins of Woody and Eric’s witty repartee? Who looks better in blue? And what exactly is the deal with that goat anyway?

…that’s a good question actually. Not that you’ll actually be getting the answers to any of those questions as Valiant says to expect “the answers to none of these pressing questions and more each week – only at IGN!”.  Even though it won’t be dealing out secrets of the Valiant U, this is one digital book that’s one that you probably don’t want to miss as it’s coming from none other than James Asmus and Ty Templeton, the soon-to-be series’ regulars.

“We have a seriously cool new series percolating with Quantum and Woody, but before it kicks off in July, our friends at IGN were kind (and crazy) enough to let James Asmus and Ty Templeton bring the hilarity of the world’s worst superhero team to their readers on a weekly basis,” said Quantum and Woody Editor Jody LeHeup. “James and Ty have done their darnedest to deliver some special stuff for old fans of Q&W and new readers alike, so rejoice y’all – Quantum and Woody are back a bit early and in a whole new way.”

Bottom line- if you’re among the legion of fans waiting patiently for the new Quantum & Woody book to kick off, don’t miss these installments on IGN. Quantum & Woody #1 klangs onto comic shop shelves on July 10th and the first installment of the six issue IGN series is up and ready right this very second, right here.
