Konami has officially announced that Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection is coming to the PS3 just in time for the series’ 25th anniversary.
Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection is a complete set of the MGS games, all wrapped up in Blu Ray format on the PS3. And by ‘complete’ set, we mean complete.
Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the METAL GEAR SOLID franchise, this PlayStation®3 exclusive package will include METAL GEAR SOLID, METAL GEAR SOLID 2: HD Edition, METAL GEAR SOLID 3: HD Edition (which includes the original MSX versions of METAL GEAR and METAL GEAR 2), METAL GEAR SOLID: Peace Walker HD Edition, METAL GEAR SOLID: VR MISSIONS and METAL GEAR SOLID 4: Trophy Edition. In addition, the collection will also include two Ashley Wood digital graphic novels.
There’s an awful lot of really nice little additions in that pack. Konami is not only including all the stuff you’d expect with a name like ‘Legacy Collection’, but they’re also throwing in the two graphic novels (very cool) and the original Metal Gear and its sequel. Personally, I haven’t played either one of those since maybe a few years after they were released way back on the NES.
If you’re looking to catch up on your tactical espionage lore, this is your best bet. Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection will be out exclusively on the PS3 this June.
