Morbius and Kraven face off against Ben Reilly’s Spidey in Beyond

The Spider-Man Beyond era is kicking off with a pair of classic villains, as Ben Reilly’s first test back in the webs is Kraven and Michael Morbius.

Trial by fire

If you’re a Spider-Man fan, then you already know that Marvel is set to replace Pete once again with his clone, Ben Reilly. Yes Ben is back in the red and blue (in a different suit though), and prepped to take on Spider-Man’s mission anew.

This time though, there’s a big difference, as Ben is working for a corporation called “Beyond”, hence the title. But even so, it sounds like Ben’s not going to be having the easiest of times with the new job.

This November, fans will see Ben Reilly’s early outings as Spider-Man in the pages of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #78-80. Now backed by the Beyond Corporation, Spider-Man is in for a slew of dangerous missions. After being brutally taken down by Morbius, Spider-Man will fall into a trap by one the deadliest foes in his legendary rogue gallery: Kraven the Hunter! The hunter is going to test his prey like never before and Spider-Man is sent into a hallucinatory spiral that will test his sanity and force him to do the impossible.

Marvel Comics

Ben’s first reappearance will be in Amazing Spider-Man #78, set to hit stands in November. Oddly enough, there will be two issues 78, with one sporting a “.BEY” after the number. Then after that, the numbering goes right back to normal for issues number 79 and 80. So we’ll see what’s up with that.

Both Amazing Spider-Man issues 78 and 78.BEY will arrive in November, on the 3rd and 10th respectively. Number 79 lands on November 17th, and number 80 hits on the 24th. Yes, all in November.
