Cthulhu returns this month in Lovecraft’s Untold Stories

The time is almost here, and the Old Ones are rising. You’ll have to rise to meet them, shotgun in hand, in Lovecraft’s Untold Stories.

The ancient sleepers awaken

There are no shortage of HP Lovecraft-inspired games as of late. Then again, the Cthulhu mythos has birthed many a video game in the last few decades, so it’s really not all that new of a theme.

Lovecraft’s Untold Stories is the latest in that line, though it does bring something new to the formula. That’d be rougelike elements. Or actually, make that rouge-lite. According to Blini Games, that’s how to best describe their newest title, along with a helping of RPG mechanics that is.

The game will offer both, along with loads of enemies to blast, copious amounts of Cthulhu lore for you to dig through, and face-offs with the Great Old Ones themselves. You’ll be able to p[lay through all of this on January 31st, when the title hits the PC.

After a successful period of 6 months in Early Access, the game is now complete and ready for its full release. Follow the path of five different characters (the Detective, the Professor, the Ghoul, the Thief, and the Witch) in their adventures against the Great Old Ones, their minions, and their worshippers. Explore their different storylines inspired by Lovecraft’s stories that cross randomly generated levels such as the hospital, the jungle or the port city, and look for the clues you need to face terrible foes like Dagon, Shub-Niggurath, Azathoth, Nyarlathotep, and Great Cthulhu.
