Space Hulk is going back to its roots with Space Hulk Tactics. Fans will be able to play as either the Space Marines or the Genestealers in the newly revealed console and PC game.
Your turn
I’ve played a few Space Hulk titles in my time as a gamer, of both the tabletop and digital variety. It’s a slower-paced affair than what you might usually find from a game in the Warhammer 40k universe, and that goes for the video games too. I think the last title to hold the name was a little more action-oriented, but usually these are slow and methodical games. For a reason too, as that’s the atmosphere that the original board game conveys.
Bringing a unique twist to the classic gameplay of the cult board game, engage in bloody battles through an immense Space Hulk – a twisted mass of asteroids, wrecked ships and debris – as either a squad of Terminator Space Marines or the deadly alien Genestealers. Which side will you choose?
That’s right, you can actually play as the Genestealers this time around. It’s a first, if you’re keeping score. Developer Cyanide promises this isn’t a gimmick either, as there’ll be two separate “narrative driven” campaigns to the game. In case you’re wondering, the Space Marine section is based on the Blood Angels.
There’s no trailer as of yet, but we do know that Space Hulk Tactics is scheduled to arrive this year. Watch for it on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
