Shadow of Mordor falls onto consoles and the PC this week

Out now in the US and very shortly in Europe, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor looks like a game that finally does the Lord of the Rings franchise justice.

The best memories of gaming in the LotR universe pretty easily come form the side-scrolling action games from the PS2/Xbox era. I think that might be a fact that’s about to change though as Warner Bros and Monolith Productions’ Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor looks like something ‘precious’ for LotR fans to sink their teeth into.

Taking place in a brand new era for the fiction (just as Sauron’s forces start to re-take the land of Mordor), Shadow of Mordor puts you into the shoes of Talion the Ranger. Recently dead and resurrected, Talion is bonded to a Wraith and given fantastic super-powers with which he can alter the minds of Orcs and lay waste to the armies of the dark lord. Toether with the new ‘nemesis system’, which allows baddies to remember and come gunning for you in all kinds of cool new ways, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is a game to get excited for if you’re a Lord of the Rings fan, or just someone who likes open-world action titles.

The game is out now in the US and will be hitting UK audiences for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC on the 3rd of October.
