Landing last week, Patch 7 for Larian’s titanic RPG Baldur’s Gate III is loaded, serving up new endings and lots more.
So is this the last one?
There’s been some speculation that this might be the last of the big updates for 2023’s Baldur’s Gate III. If it is, then it’s understandable, since the update is pretty chucked, packed full of new stuff for fans to dig into, including some fresh “evil” options.
The biggest of those come by way of new endings, where players can roll their way through a villainous close to their adventures. But that’s not all that’s included, as developer Larian has added a mod manager, so fans can more easily browse and enable mods, and a revamp for split-screen play.
- New ‘Evil Endings’: Brand-new cinematic endings for your most villainous playthroughs, as well as unique endings if playing an Origin Character.
- Our Very Own Mod Manager: Browse, install, and use mods created by the community!
- Revamped Split-Screen Gameplay: Dynamic split-screen is now available for multiplayer! When playing split-screen, each side will merge when you near each other and split back up as you head off on your own adventures.
Larian Studios press release
But wait, there’s more, as this update also added in “improvements to Honour Mode, including new Legendary Actions, as well as numerous bug fixes for Origin Character and Dark Urge playthroughs”, according to the dev. Oh, and apparently there’s now a chance that a “Tiefling bard” will join your party for a little while.
The update is live right now for the PC edition of Baldur’s Gate III only, but stay tuned for console and Mac editions. According to the press release, those updates will be along next month, in October.
