Revealed yesterday, the cyborg cop from the 80s is on his way back to the video game landscape. Here’s the first tease of Robocop’s return.
Part man, part machine
In a surprise announcement, gaming publisher NACON has revealed that they’ve picked up the rights to Robocop. An absolute action icon, Robocop is a classic, but one that’s really not been done overly well in a video game.
Sure the 16bit titles that featured him were okay, but that was a long time ago, and none of them were all that spectacular. Even the best of those were really just side-scrolling shooters.
So here’s to hoping that NACON and developer Teyon can get something cooking that fans can enjoy. While Teyon might not be a big name dev, you might know them from the solid Terminator title that came out recently. So there’s potential there.
As of right however, there are zero details on the game to be, though we do have a little tease for you.
You play as Alex Murphy aka RoboCop™ – part man, part machine, all cop – in this first-person shooter. Development studio Teyon is creating an original story in the franchise’s universe, in which your mission will be to protect the city of Detroit.

Look for Robocop: Rogue City to hit consoles and the PC some time in 2022.
