Microsoft set to showcase Series X games next week

There’s no E3 this year, so it sounds like Microsoft is getting set to give gamers an early look at just what the Xbox Series X can do.

X is next

Series X is still a bit of a mystery overall. Microsoft has said that it’s not even really the name of the next Xbox console. It sounds more like the highest end unit in a line of consoles. Maybe that’s changed, but as of right now Microsoft hasn’t confirmed anything one way or another.

They also haven’t shown much off in the way of actual games. Sure we have CGI looks at the Hellblade sequel and Halo Infinite, and the announcement that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be a launch game, but that’s about it. Usually this kind of stuff would be showcased at the E3 before launch, but with no show this year due to the coronavirus, MS has bumped up the timetable.

That’s right, it’s time to get pumped if you’ve been awaiting the Series X (or whatever it’s actually called), as Microsoft has announced the first look at its games.

The news came in the form of a tweet yesterday, in which the official Xbox account posted:

But wait, there’s more! Head of marketing at Xbox, Aaron Greenberg added to that with a tweet of his own. There he elaborated, saying that the marketing team has some big plans for summer 2020.

That’s some great news right there, as it might mean that Microsoft will have a much deeper look soon, at Series X and its games. Maybe that’ll even come in the form of a digital E3-type presentation.
